Driver Held For Inquest In Truck Driver Death
Morris Markowitz of the Bronx is held as a material witness in a coroner’s inquest into the death of Lynda V. Jimison a Toledo truck driver killed near the Somerset station on Tuesday night. The inquest, ordered by Coroner A M Up, is set for Friday at 6 p.m. in the courthouse grand jury room. District Attorney Lansberry said no charges would be filed until the inquest concludes. Jimison and two companions, Cliff Walton of Mont Clare and R L Barlup of Hagers town, were in two trucks for Allied Lines traveling east on the turnpike when the accident occurred after a cross-traffic moment as Markowitz’s car swerved and struck Jimison, dragging his body 150 feet and stopping 300 feet from the impact. Pvt Capparrell and Sgt McGill investigated. Jimison died of a cerebral concussion and multiple injuries. Jimison’s body was returned to Toledo after funeral arrangements.
