Caribou County Girls Attend Short Course
Ten Soda Springs girls with leaders and County Agent Anderson attended the first annual junior short course for southeastern Idaho in Pocatello. Thirteen counties were represented with nearly 900 attendees. Courses ran in university classrooms with dormitory meals, under J W Barber and staff from extension services. Lava Hot Springs day capped the course with baths and sports. Local families and clubs sent delegates, and county officials and visitors joined community events in surrounding towns.

California Man I8 New Lions President
Ray Le Grande Riley of Sacramento was elected president of the International Association of Lions Clubs at its thirteenth annual convention in Louisville. He succeeds Ben A. Ruffin and becomes head of the large service organization with clubs in the U S Canada and several other regions. Riley has served in public office for thirty years and held roles from justice of the peace to state controller. He married Winifred M. Jebb in 1894 and they have a daughter, Thelma Marie McKim.

Water trouble cleared up in southeastern Idaho
Myron Swendsen director of water resources said water from the Blackfoot marsh reservoir flooding Soda creek through volcanic fissures across the divide has been solved. He spoke in Boise after completing the annual dam inspections and declared all dams in good condition with favorable water prospects for southeastern Idaho.
