Lions announce Conda Soda Springs clean up prize winners

Prizes for the Conda and Soda Springs clean up campaign are announced by the Lions Club. Winners include Dave Giles and Bolton ard Place Ted Horsley Willard Lindsay Ted Rosen Alma Hayes Frank Thirkill J D Woodall T H Horsley Paul Tipton. Prizes include a silver loving cup and cash awards with a banquet planned for June 11.

Boise Veteran Fights in Five Wars at 84

Boise veteran Lieutenant Colonel M. W. Wood, 84, who served in Civil War campaigns and Spanish American War, led medical units in Cuba, then overseas in World War I, returning to Boise as a respected former Legion commander. His life reflects a long military career and active involvement in veterans and music programs.

Public Recital by Dr Douglas and Loyd Thompson at High School

Soda Springs presents a public recital on Thursday June 12 at 8 P M in the High School Auditorium. Pianist Dr Douglas English born toured Paris St Petersburg and Hamburg as a concert artist and baritone Loyd Thompson renowned as city band music supervisor and soloist with Willamette University Glee Club will perform. The public is invited to enjoy this rare musical event in Soda Springs.

Caribou County Meeting Highlights Local Poison Alfalfa Demonstration

W E Riter, junior biologist, demonstrated poison alfalfa to control rock chucks near Caribou County. One gallon treats about 20 pounds. mold limits stock. Grays Lake Highway Route Favored by Engineers

Boise highway officials visited Soda to review routes from Grays Lake to Wagon and choose between the hill from Henry or Beaver Tail Point routes. Engineers recommended the Beaver Tail Point path and construction is planned soon after final survey and decision by the highway commissioner.

Henry Stampede Dates Set for 1930 August Event

The 11th annual Henry Stampede is scheduled for August 14 15 and 16 1930 avoiding conflict with the American Legion Convention in Idaho Falls. Stockholders met last Monday electing J S Houtz as president J E Lau as vice president and S E Matthews as secretary. Directors include J S Houtz J B Lau L K Bitton Walter Hogan Paul Tipton L C Ruud Lewis Button Willard Bitton Ernest Smith Bud Weaver and Albert Beus.
