Five Indictments Return in Scurry County Grand Jury
A Scurry County grand jury returned five indictments on Thursday. Three accused were for driving while intoxicated second offense including Wallace Samuel Woolsay San Saba Ronald Marion McGaha and Lofton Pope Lunceford Snyder. Henry Carroll Lock Snyder faced a first offense DWI and case sent to county court. William Clark Connell Clyde was indicted for forgery and passing a check at Bruton Jewelry.
Moscow Expels 26 Year Old American for CIA Ties
A 26 year old American, Nicholas H. Riegg of Concord California, graduates of the University of Pennsylvania, was expelled from the Soviet Union on charges of working for the CIA and hostile activity. The U S Embassy in Moscow denied the charges. Trud the Soviet labor newspaper said Riegg signed a statement admitting the charges and noted that Donald R Lesh a U S Embassy secretary expelled earlier served as contact man for Riegg. The embassy said Riegg was detained overnight denied contact with his embassy threatened with prison and ordered to leave the country. He had registered as a tourist on Sept 1 and appeared at the embassy in Bucharest on Sept 12. The embassy offered no further details.

Harrell Rites Are Held Here Today
Garrett Harrell a 66 year old Scurry County rancher died at Cogdell Memorial Hospital. He was born February 4 1900 in Eastland County and lived on ranches near Camp Springs and Snyder Route 1. He married Ellen Buice Johnson September 18 1928 in Colorado City. Services were at Thirty seventh Street Church of Christ with ministers Don Browning and Pat Abban to officiating. Burial in Snyder Cemetery. Survivors include widow Ellen, two daughters Littie Cromwell and Mary Jo Harrell, a son Charles Sonny Harrell, four grandchildren and two sisters Myrtle and Faye Harrell. Pallbearers listed.
