A Texas Highway Dept report shows average daily traffic on state roads rose at least seven percent in each of the three summer months. March led with a 10.9 percent gain, while the top highway segment remains Interstate 45 near Houston with 133 248 vehicles in an hour. WACIL McNAIR.

The Viet Cong pushes a tripartite government plan opposed by Saigon and Washington.
Peking reports that undisclosed difficulties in drafting a communique on restoring China Japan relations have emerged as Tanaka and Chou En Lai hold summit talks. A communique is expected Friday despite cautions on substantive material.

A parlor scene by the Snyder Ranch Headquarters unit will feature a pump organ played by Mrs. James Rosser. A Ranch Headquarters display from Lubbock and a gem stone collection by Herbert von Roeder will be shown. Refreshments and handmade items by Atheneum and Altrurian Clubs will be sold. Exhibits run 3 to 7 p.m. Cash prizes of 100 75 50 and 25 guide judging. To reserve space call three organizers.
Oslo report says the Norwegian Nobel Committee will not award a Peace Prize this year marking the 19th omission since 1901. No official reason given. prize money about 100000 dollars remains in the Nobel fund. The 1971 laureate was Willy Brandt of West Germany.
U S diplomat Thomas O. Enders survived a powerful bomb attack on an armored limousine in Phnom Penh with four Cambodians injured and two police escorts initially reported dead. Enders leads the mission while Ambassador Swank is on leave. The report notes past assassination attempts on Swank. A separate London note says the U S will require visas for most foreign visitors under new anti terrorist rules with Canadian exceptions.
