Mass Opens at Kennedy Center Prompts Wide Attendance

Edith And Fern Gain Strength In Caribbean Storm System
Hurricanes Edith and Fern intensified as Edith moved through the western Caribbean toward Central America. The National Hurricane Center warned of a dangerous major storm with a large cyclonic system spanning the Gulf of Mexico and Atlantic. Edith center was about 340 miles south-southeast of Kingston Jamaica with winds near 75 mph. Fern threatened the Mexican coast with 55 to 60 mph winds.
