Chevron Plant Fire Injures Three Workers North of Snyder
A fire at the Chevron Gasoline Plant nine miles north of Snyder injured three employees Jim Manley Jack Harless and Charles Landon. Manley and Harless were hospitalized for burns while Landon was treated and released. One end of a compressor building was destroyed and six compressors damaged. Foam units from Western Co Halliburton Co and Chevron helped suppress the blaze. Snyder firefighters assisted until the fire burned out.

August Jobs Rise Despite Unemployment Rate Edge

Oil Tank Fire Contained at Pasadena Terminal
An explosion and blaze at the General American Transportation Corp terminal near the Houston Ship Channel injured three workers, two critically. The fire was controlled in about an hour.
