Thunderstorms Bring Heavy Rain Across Snyder Area
Severe storms drenched Snyder and surrounding areas Friday night with two-day rainfall totals reaching up to 2.88 inches in Snyder and as high as 3.75 inches near Lake J. B. Thomas. Stream levels rose on the Colorado River and Bull Creek, with Bull Creek spilling its banks in places as rainfall extended from Gail to the lake region and into Hermleigh.

Memorial Day Observed With Closings In Snyder
The Memorial Day holiday will close most Snyder offices including the post office courthouse and city hall. Veterans groups will hold services at Snyder Cemetery with flag-raising at 9 a.m. Public invited. Sanitation crews take the day off and Tuesday trash collection resumes.
