A noon thunderstorm dumped 0.60 inches over Snyder as lightning hit the county courthouse top, tearing a 200 pound stone piece from the steps and causing damage to the brick bannister. A separate strike hit the water well building on Twenty fifth Street, starting a small fire quickly put out by firefighters.
