Donald B. Ginbey 48 of 3504 Irving died at 6 15 am today at Cogdell Memorial Hospital after a long illness. Funeral rites are at 4 pm Sunday at St Elizabeth Catholic Church with Fr James Coleman officiating. Burial at Hillside Memorial Gardens. VFW and Knights of Columbus honors planned. Snyder Public School Board Approves Budget Points
The Snyder Public School Board approved participation in the Scurry County Boys Club summer program with $600 allocated. Meal allowances for school trips rise to $2 from $1.50. A Boy Scouts bus loan was approved for transport to the Scout Ranch in the Davis Mountains. Three teachers Hazel Buswell Margaret Key and Jewell Summers will retire May 31. A second budget work session is scheduled for Monday night.

Budget Session Called June 14 Budget action to adopt state budget no new taxes
Gov. Preston Smith called a special session of the Legislature for June 14 to approve state appropriations for the year starting Sept. 1 and to consider ethics for officials and trailer braking law repeal. He seeks eight anti tax options and would veto any tax bill outside these aims. He also mobilized 150 National Guard volunteers to assist the Highway Patrol during Memorial Day weekend. He urged Congress to push federal aid for colleges and delay school busing orders until 1974.
