Awards Presented At Snyder High School Assembly

Snyder High School held an awards assembly in the auditorium as top scholastic students from each class were honored. Bill Hood of the Chamber of Commerce presented prizes to seniors, juniors, and sophomores, with names of the top students listed for each class. McCord Testimony Details Watergate Wiretaps and Tactics

James W McCord Jr testified before Senate investigators denying efforts to influence the White House to avoid jail. He admitted sending an unsigned December letter threatening “every tree in the forest” if the CIA were blamed, and said the threat targeted no one but the case. He described two calls to foreign embassies to be overheard on taps, intended to test government honesty. Embassies identified as Israel and Chile. Showers Sweep Through Snyder Area Monday Night

Blustery showers moved through the Snyder region overnight producing limited moisture. A westward squall line dumped about a quarter inch at the Snyder water plant while rainfall elsewhere ranged from 10 to 39 inches with lightning and thunder.
