Bus Crash Near Snyder Kills SMU Coed Margo Gerber
An 18 year old SMU coed, Margo Dawn Gerber of Santa Fe New Mexico, died at the scene when a Texas New Mexico and Oklahoma bus overturned near Snyder after a rainstorm. Seventeen passengers and the driver were hospitalized. The bus was en route from Dallas to Santa Fe with several Prairie View College and Rice University students among the riders. The driver Newt J Holt was among the injured. Authorities cited high winds and an initial skid on the wet roadway as possible causes.

Woman Hurt In Mishap Near Roby Highway Overpass
A two car crash east of the Roby highway overpass at 12 30 pm sent Mrs. Raymond Pribyla of Bomarton to Cog dell Hospital with head injuries. Her husband drove a 1962 Ford. Jim Wilson of the vicinity drove another 1962 Ford station wagon. Both cars suffered heavy left front fender damage. Pribyla's condition was not known but not believed serious. Sheriff and Highway Patrol investigated. Snyder fire department stood by.
