Shooting in Snyder Flats Leaves Two Hurt One Dead
In Snyder flats a cafe rooming house at 3418 Avenue M operated by Martha Hill Holland saw a shooting just before 7 p m Saturday. Bernabe Pina Alvarado 60 Latin American died from chest and neck wounds while J C Smith 55 Negro was treated at Cogdell Memorial for gunshot injuries. Holland sustained knife wounds though not serious. A .38 revolver was seized as investigators questioned witnesses. No charges were filed by night’s end. Alvarado’s body remained at Bell Funeral Home.
