Prisoners Walk Off And Surrender At Scurry County Jail
Two trusted inmates, Roy Cannon Burditt and Jerry Bob Johnson, escaped Scurry County jail around 3 p.m. Monday then surrendered voluntarily to sheriff's deputies by 10 p.m. Burditt, serving multiple sentences, will lose four months of good time. Johnson loses his good time as well. Police had been seeking them since their disappearance and located them at Johnson’s mother's home near Dunn.
