Mr and Mrs Lenford Strickland of Duncanville a Dallas suburb were found shot to death Sunday on a trail near Mountain Creek Lake Police said the woman may have been raped she was naked Strickland 31 shot in the left temple his wife Janice 28 shot below the left eye Both bodies found near their automobile Police found a .45 caliber cartridge hull and two live rounds but no gun Bloodstains noted on the car floorboard and front seat They were last seen Saturday night leaving for a dance in Grand Prairie

Reports say the Norwegian freighter Sandanger caught fire off the Baja California coast with about 56 aboard including 11 passengers. Coast Guard reported unconfirmed abandonment and 10 missing. a German freighter Bodstein took aboard two women and three children. Missing include Captain John Kellmer and stewardess Rigmar Wiers.
