A misprogrammed Social Security computer sent erroneous notices to about 30,000 recipients last month, docking or overpaying benefits among 550,000 notices issued in mid-April to workers who had reported part time or full time employment in 1978 while drawing benefits. The issue was confirmed by Social Security spokesman Jim Brown.
