Texas Agricultural Extension uses sexily baited boll weevil traps
The Agricultural Extension Service of Texas A and M plans a dragnet of traps along the Caprock edge toward the New Mexico line to catch boll weevils entering the High Plains. Each trap centers four live male weevils in a cage, coated with sticky material to snare approaching insects, with females the intended catch. The trap line spans Briscoe through Dawson Counties toward the New Mexico border. Western Union begins a new telegram blank, the largest printing order in company history at 100 million blanks.
