Rains Curb Area Water Deliveries Amid April Decline

Sky Divers and Pilot Die in Pottstown Plane Crash
Five sky-diving parachutists and their pilot were killed when their high wing single engine plane crashed on a farm field seven miles north of Pottstown after taking off from New Hanover Airport for a sky diving meet. One jumper leaped from the stricken craft at 300 feet and landed safely. A second jumper escaped but his chute tangled in the tail and failed to inflate, crashing near the burning wreckage. The crash occurred on John Pfander’s farm as the plane exploded on impact. Neighbors reported seeing the spiraling aircraft moments before the crash.
