28 Crewmen Are Rescued From Sinking Freighter Bornholm
New York May 4 Twenty eight crewmen were rescued from the Finnish freighter Bornholm 1 200 miles east southeast of New York. The vessel sank eight minutes after the crew boarded the Coast Guard cutter Duane at 10 03 a m. The Bornholm en route from Spain to Wilmington Del with a flour cargo sent distress at 9 a m yesterday. Weather roughness caused flooding and the ship could not stand heavy seas.

One Injured In Accident At Thirty Seventh Street And Avenue S
One man Godfrey E. Pavalas driver of a 1952 GMC pickup owned by Pete J. Nachlinger of 2812 Avenue H was slightly injured and hospitalized for observation after a two vehicle crash Friday afternoon at Thirty-seventh Street and Avenue S. The other driver Odell N. Cox of 2707 Avenue U in a 1954 Ford was uninjured. Both vehicles sustained heavy damage.

Oil Well Fire Put Out At Local Theater Site
Firemen quickly extinguished a blaze at an oil well inside the city limits last night. Flames broke out around 8 p m near Avenue T and Seventeenth Street at the bottom of a theater causing little damage. The incident occurred about two blocks north of a previously ignited well.
