Ration Backers Still Hopeful for Car ter Plan in House
Washington AP backers of President Carter s standby gasoline ration plan say they have a fighting chance. The House Commerce Committee voted 21 20 to send the plan to the floor with no recommendation. Rep John D Dingell pledged it would reach the full House for a vote within days. A Senate vote was expected Thursday on a related standby energy plan. Liberal House members planned to move to block lifting oil price controls on June 1.
