President Nixon assigns Vice President Spiro T. Agnew as vice chairman of the Domestic Council to deepen his involvement in domestic policy. Agnew will liaise with governors and local officials, though he does not assume Ehrlichman’s duties. The move follows White House staff reshaping after resignations and amid political shifts.
Snyder School Trustees spent about three hours in informal conferences with elementary principals and voted to keep the 1973-74 program. The budget for elementary teaching supplies rose from 9 to 12 per capita, and a volunteer tutoring service was debated to boost motivation and curb absenteeism.

In Washington, Texans in Congress back a proposal for an outside government special prosecutor to probe the Watergate scandal. Rep. W. R. Officials suggested stricter enforcement while avoiding a new wage-price freeze, noting no clear agenda from today’s session.
