Pilot eludes pursuers before dawn rescue in Nam mountains
Capt. James M. Ingalls of Palo Alto California parachuted into rugged North Viet Nam terrain after his A1E Skyraider was shot down. Ground fire forced three rescue attempts Sunday with two helicopters struck by bullets. Dawn patrol finally hoisted Ingalls to safety as air crews dodged hostile fire and moved him to safety on the border region.

Last Miners Return to Work in Coal Strike End
