A traveling exhibit from the National Cowboy Hall of Fame and Western Heritage Center in Oklahoma City opens at the Scurry County Coliseum this afternoon. Viewers may visit from 1 to 5 p.m. The Diamond M Foundation sponsors the showing, featuring 16 top western artists, with the Diamond M Museum also open during the same hours.

U S B52 bombers increased strikes on North Vietnamese supply routes while artillery pounded DMZ edge positions. Viet Cong attacked outskirts of Saigon and Da Nang. A grenade killed three civilians and wounded ten at a government office. US and South Vietnamese forces pressed operations around Khe Sanh and Ham Nghi amid shelling. Cambodian highway fight near Phnom Penh saw trucks destroyed. Laos battles near Luang Prabang reported with advances by Communist forces and allied counterstrikes.
Inflation costs drive the Air Force to trim 12 more F111 purchases. Each of the two aircraft was valued at about 8.6 million, up from roughly 3.4 million previously, reducing General Dynamics orders to 519 planes plus seven for a canceled Navy program.
Snyder residents must dial seven digits for local calls starting Monday. Southwestern Bell manager Bill Gilliland says the change, due to technical improvements, ends completed calls with fewer digits. He notes Snyder numbers now begin with 57.
United News of India reports thousands dead in East Pakistan fighting with West Pakistan army units clashing with civilians in Dacca. Lt. Gen. Tikka Khan is said to have died from injuries after an attack on his residence. Reports unconfirmed due to censorship and disputed releases.
President Nixon will announce a plan to stabilize wages and curb inflation in the construction industry while reimposing the Davis-Bacon Act on federal projects. If firms refuse self-regulation, the White House may suspend Davis-Bacon again and halt federal construction for offenders.
