Trust Fund Board For Cogdell Hospital Sets Donation Policy
The Martha Ann Cogdell Hospital Trust fund held its first meeting to outline charitable objectives and donation rules. County Judge Edgar Taylor was elected chairman and Mrs. Cogdell secretary. others include Floyd O. Shelton and Mrs. C. V. White Thompson. The board thanked Minnie L. Stewart for a $2,000 gift to furnish a hospital room and noted Cogdell’s recent $200,000 gift would fund the charity wing, with donors recognized on a plaque and door plaques. New York March 22 A possible break in the solid front of steel companies appeared today as they announced negotiations separately with the CIO United Steelworkers on Wage Stabilization Board recommendations. The union accepted the WSB terms including a 1.72 cent an hour raise and a union shop and threatened an industry wide strike on April 8 unless companies comply.

Dutch airliner Queen Juliana crashes near Frankfurt
A Royal Dutch DC-6 named Queen Juliana crashed in suburban woods near Rhine Main Airport killing 43 of 47 aboard.
