Algerian towns see Muslim riots amid cease fire tensions
In Algeria crowds clashed with Muslim soldiers and French troops in several towns including Voltaire and St Denis du Sig. Casualties were reported with 52 killed in St Denis du Sig. authorities gave no overall toll. Power was restored after a 24 hour strike by the Secret Army Organisation. President de Gaulle planned a referendum on the Algerian accord.

Syrians Fire Israeli Boat in Sea of Galilee Clash
Syrian shore gunners and an Israeli patrol boat exchanged fire briefly at the Sea of Galilee frontier during an eight hour battle weekend. Two Israelis wounded. Both sides blamed each other amid renewed cross border hostilities. Syrian planes were sighted over the area on Monday suggesting reconnaissance missions. No Israeli air interference reported.

College Bus and Truck Collide Near Groesbeck
A Navarro Junior College bus and a pickup collided north of Groesbeck injuring 10. Three students Deanne Corbitt Douglas LaFay both 19 of Groesbeck and Jack Weaver Barnett 21 of Thornton were taken for possible internal injuries. Six others plus the truck driver John B Campbell 19 of Thornton had minor injuries. The driver James Parmley 42 from Groesbeck was not injured. The truck turned left into a private driveway as Parmley tried to pass.

A fire at 4:45 this morning just west of the traffic circle on the Fast Highway caused severe damage to one room of a three room house. The house was occupied by B. J. King. A cigarette setting fire to a sofa was listed as the probable cause.
