Mrs. Martha Cearley Dies at 89 in Hermleigh Rites Set
Martha F Cearley 89 of 2105 Twenty seventh Street died at 12 25 am in Cogdell Memorial Hospital. She leaves two daughters Effie Williams of Snyder and Gertie White of Cisco a son W W Cearley of Helmleigh 16 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. A Baptist church member and longtime Scurry County resident she moved here after her husband B W Cearley died in 1957. Services will be held in First Baptist Church Hermleigh at 2 pm tomorrow Rev Bob Creswell and Rev Bill Dodson will officiate with graveside services Thursday at Leos Ward. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Bell Seale Funeral Home in charge.

In Salisbury Rhodesia the white minority government used jet bombers and fighters against African nationalist guerrillas. About 50 guerrillas were pinned near the Zambezi River 250 miles north of Salisbury with 14 reported killed and several captured. One government serviceman, a nephew of defense secretary E C W Trollip, was killed. The attackers are believed to have crossed from Zambia last week and to be Communist trained.
