Three Perish In Blaze At Methodist Home Dormitory
A pre-dawn fire destroyed a two story dormitory at the Methodist Home for Children in Philadelphia killing three boys and injuring six including the house mother. Only the gray-stone walls remained as a dozen boys aged 10 to 14 and the house mother lived there. Survivors jumped from second floor windows. Superintendent H Darrell Stone said 65 children aged 10 to 14 live there and the home serves dependent children, not all of them orphans.
