In Dallas a 15 year old boy rescued a 14 year old girl from a stocky man who dragged her into a deserted building after a night at the movies. The assailant threatened two other teens with a knife as he pulled the victim inside. The boy arrived as the girl screamed and the man fled. Police said the 14 year old was not raped.

32 Killed In Airplane Crash In Singapore
SINGAPORE, March 13. A British Constellation airliner crash landed at Singapore's main airport, skidded, somersaulted and burned. Thirty two people were killed, including at least three Americans and one Canadian. Eight crew survived as rescuers pulled the injured from the burning wreck. Victims included Grant F. Olson, 48, VP of W A Sheaffer Pen Co., and Michael Shathin, 60, Warner Bros. East supervisor. R F Matson, 52, an American railroad official, was also identified among the dead.
