Egypt and Israel are urged to agree a fixed date for resuming Geneva talks, while U S officials say a joint nonwar pledge is being considered. Sadat and Kissinger held talks in Aswan with optimism but noting more work remains. Damascus calls Kissinger a joker and charlatan amid shuttle diplomacy aimed at pressuring Sadat.
In Minneapolis the IRS disallowed nearly $200000 in income tax deductions claimed by Senator Hubert H. Humphrey for giving vice presidential papers to the Minnesota Historical Society. An aide said Humphrey will repay taxes plus 6 percent annual interest on $199,153 under an agreement with the IRS.
Four candidates filed for the Fluvanna School Trustee election. James E. Beaver and Royce Summers seek re election while Rex Pylant and Joe Bilano run for the first time. Election is Saturday April 5 from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. in the high school library with Mrs H B Lemons as presiding judge and absentee voting clerk at her Light community home.
