Fatal crash claims Snyder woman near Slaton
Mrs. Ed Portwood 42 of Snyder died in a two car head on collision about 1 am southeast of Slaton on U S Highway 84. In the Portwood car were her mother Ethel Hammons 65 and sister Eva Alley 70 of Lewisville. Mrs Hammons and Mrs Alley were hospitalized with serious injuries. The other vehicle carried Lee Scott 32 and Louis Atwood Nalls Jr 33 of Dallas. Survivors include Portwood husband Art Hammons Buddy Hammons and Billie Archie.
