Amarillo Cold Wave Triggers Warnings as Norther Hits
The Weather Bureau issued cold wave warnings for the Texas Panhandle as a fresh norther dropped temperatures by about 10 degrees and winds up to 30 mph. Snow flurries were forecast for the Panhandle with 20 to 30 degree lows, while East Central Texas saw thundershowers and light rain and southern areas stayed in the 80s. Stockmen were advised to protect cattle as the norther spread toward northern Texas by Sunday night.

Three Injured Here After Police Chase
Three Snyder youths were injured when a pursuing car overturned after a chase reaching speeds over 80 mph. Jerry Lee Allen Kenneth Joe Ivison and Jack Jeane Norris, all 22, were in the Ivison owned Buick. Norris suffered more serious injuries and remained hospitalized.
