Kennedy to hold morning news conference Wednesday

2000 Russians Leave Cuba on Soviet Liner

Planes Ripped By Whirlwind Near Miami

A west of Miami whirlwind ripped into two lines of tied down airplanes at Opalocka field, destroying or damaging seven craft in under three minutes. Officials tensed, the Weather Bureau labeled it a dust-devil rather than a tornado, as workers watched blades of grass and debris lifted before planes were snapped free.

Texas Public School Week Observed in Snyder

Snyder plans Texas Public School Week activities inviting residents to visit classrooms. A schedule targets elementary grades 1 4 on Monday 2 5 on Tuesday and 3 6 on Wednesday with junior and senior high visits possible any day. Special programs run Wednesday with sessions at Travis 9 30 am Senor 10 30 am and Lamar 12 45 pm.

First Candidate Files for Snyder ISD Board Seat

J. L. Broad way Browning 49-year-old real estate developer and former Vocational Ag teacher in Snyder Schools filed for a place on the ballot. He holds a Texas Tech B S in agriculture and has held community roles including Boy Scout district vice chairman Rotary director city council president of the Real Estate Board and Church of Christ member. Two board seats will be decided April 6 with a March 6 filing deadline.

Soviet Cargo From Havana Signals New Cuban Deployment

Dry Air Mass Moves Over State Saturday

A dry air mass moved southeast across Texas Saturday, bringing mild conditions with daytime highs in the high 70s to 80s in the central and southern regions. The Weather Bureau forecast clouds to increase Sunday in West Texas with a few showers possible in the northwest by afternoon or evening.

Denson Rites Set At Dunn

Mrs. J. L. Denson 75 of Dunn died Friday at Root Memorial Hospital Colorado City after weeks of illness. Born July 17 1887 in Arkansas she married J. L. Denson in Nashville Arkansas Sept 2 1905. Funeral at Dunn Church of Christ with minister Fleteeper Caughan officiating burial in Dunn Cemetery. Survived by daughter Mrs. Robert Hoyle granddaughter and two great grandchildren. Pallbearers listed.
