The Alabama Supreme Court ruled the telephone company bears no duty to stop calls. Mrs Marie Mickwee sought an order to curb rival Alma Boteler who allegedly harassed her husband with incessant calls. The court held the phone is a passive service and nuisance lies with the caller, not the carrier.

Fire at Roy Meador Home Extinguished Before Arrival
Firemen were called to the Roy Meador residence west of Snyder at 6 30 last night but found the fire already out. Fire Chief D A Porter said a plastic wall protector over the kitchen range caught fire and was extinguished with a fire extinguisher, leaving only the plastic damaged. The house sits beside Radio Station KSNY and is owned by J T Hughes, owner of the station.
