Rankin Man Named Snyder Schools Superintendent
Bill J. Hood 41 of Rankin is named Snyder Schools superintendent by a unanimous school board vote for a two year contract. Hood will take over for Dr. Robert L. Clinton who moves to Aus tin July 1 as Assistant Commissioner of Higher Education for Development of Junior Colleges. Hood’s base salary is 15000 yearly plus 2400 travel and 600 in district expenses. He has a long record in Rankin and education, including administration roles from junior high to superintendent since 1963.

Thundershowers passed over Scurry County with little moisture except in the south where Mrs. L. A. Scott of Dunn reported about half an inch of rain with high winds and hail. Snyder saw only a trace during a brief blow late Thursday bringing blowing sand and light drizzle.
