Jerry Mac Dennis Jr. 19 pleaded guilty in Scurry County District Court to the lesser murder count in the Clyde Dennis killing. District Judge Wayland G Holt set a formal July 1 sentence of 78 years, equal to the elder Dennis's age, after DA Pete Greene recommended the term.
