Scurry County Proposes Historic Trail For State Network

Scurry County submits a plan to Austin for a tourism trail linking Camp Springs Lake J B Thomas and Snyder markers. Gene Merrifield and Hugh Boren Jr present the outline as Gov Connally urges counties to attract tourists off highways. Julius L. Fields 81 longtime area resident died shortly before noon at Cogdell Memorial Hospital He came to Scurry County in 1905 lived elsewhere about 15 years then returned and resided at 126 Twentieth Place He was a Methodist, Mason and funeral services were pending at Bell Seale Funeral Home Surviving are his wife three sons Rex Dan and J C Fields a daughter Mrs Tom Hargrove two sisters and a brother in California and Texas respectively.
