Body of Big Spring Pilot Found Near Here
The body of C. A. Dahse 32 of Big Spring Texas was found in a Piper Cub wreckage four miles east of Lamar Oklahoma. Dahse had been missing since Friday afternoon and was identified by papers on his body. The plane ran out of fuel en route to Tulsa and overturned in soft soil after landing attempt during a thunderstorm.

Oil Truck Damaged in Sudden Fire Near Snyder
Fire Chief D A Porter reported a heavy fire gutted the tractor of an oil transport truck and damaged the tank trailer. Owner Driver Jack Speed of Snyder escaped after stopping on U S Highway 180 eight miles east of Snyder. Spectators stayed back as flames engulfed the cab through an open door.

Post Office curtailment urged by House committee
The House Appropriations Committee told the Post Office Department to limit services and live within reduced funds to avoid a repeat of 1957. It cut 16 percent of the extra 149 million requested to supplement a 3.192 billion dollar appropriation for the fiscal year starting July 1. Indications were the House would back the cut when considering the money bill next week. Summerfield warned some curtailments would occur if the full request isn’t granted. The panel labeled several curtailments desirable and said zones should raise rates on longer routes to save about five million dollars, and suggested daily star-route service reductions to save 700,000. Other savings include halting some money orders and trimming Saturday service. The department should reexamine city delivery amid a shift to a five-day work week and cut back Saturday work accordingly. Some members have argued there is no need for extensive business mail deliveries on Saturdays.

United States proposes limited disarmament cut to 20 million
