Jody Martin Parr, 40, estranged wife of Duval County Judge Archer Parr, was found fatally wounded by a bullet in her Corpus Christi townhouse at about 7 15 am. She died at 7 40 am after being transported to a hospital. Police said she was despondent amid a lengthy divorce battle and that furnishings had been removed by a court-appointed receiver. The affair arose in a broader violent Middle East note, mentioning Arab gunmen and Israeli raids.

A ten hour closed session focused on executive privilege with no final agreement and another meeting was set for Friday. Ehrlichman illness of White House lawyer J Fred Buzhardt added to delays as notes dispute lingers.
The Labor Department reports May wholesale prices rose 1.3 percent seasonally adjusted, similar to March and April but below the December–February peak. Unadjusted May gain was 1.5 percent with farm products and processed foods down 2.2 percent, while industrial commodities rose 2.7 percent and consumer finished goods 0.6 percent. The government calls the rise substantial and widespread, hinting at continued inflation as higher wholesale costs often pass to retail prices.
White House counsel J. Fred Buzhardt, a key Nixon aide in the Watergate case, was admitted to Fairfax Hospital in Virginia with chest pains early today. Officials said he may be suffering a myocardial infarction as President Nixon, then in Egypt, was informed of the development.
Funeral arrangements were pending at Bell Seale Funeral Home for Willie Gillette Chauncey age 59. He died at his home from an apparent heart attack and is survived by his wife and a son Ronnie Chauncey of Henderson.
