Bonn Spurns Quick Recruiting Bill For German Army
Bonn spurned today a bill to recruit volunteers to serve in the German army calling for clarification of policy on rearmament and legal basis. The Bundesrat declined to stand on the measure, saying questions remained unresolved, threatening Adenauer Cabinet plans to rush 10 000 volunteers into training this autumn.
