In Scurry County runoff elections Bonnie Brooks won the Democratic District Clerk nomination with 1 601 votes over Evelyn Schulz 990. Jess Everett defeated incumbent Bill Hairston for Precinct No 4 county commissioner with 457 votes to 319. Earl Hassie Sneed was renominated in Precinct No 2 with 291 votes while Jimmy Clayton Jr had 193. Michael Ezzell of Snyder led county totals with 1 175 votes and Toombs 862 for State Representative 63rd District. The two commissioner posts and district clerk will run unopposed in November. Ezzell will face Republican John Anderson for state representative. Turnout was 2 615.
