Five Candidates for FB Queen in Scurry County
Five entrants will vie Friday night August 12 at Snyder High School for the Scurry County Farm Bureau beauty contest. Entry closes August 3 at the Farm Bureau office. Contestants must be 16 to 22 with a Farm Bureau father or brother active in farming. Linda Rinehart, Diane Hess, Reneka Hooker, Wanda Hudgins, and Debbie Mathis are announced as the first five candidates. Linda Rinehart, an honor student, will be a Snyder High senior and aims for McMurry or Abilene Christian College after graduation. Diane Hess, 17, is a Hermleigh High senior and organist at First Methodist Church. Reneka Hooker, a June Ira High School graduate, excelled in athletics and academics and is active in FHA. Wanda Hudgins, daughter of Irene Hudgins and the late Jack Hudgins, lives in Hermleigh Route 2. Debbie Mathis, daughter of Mr and Mrs W O Mathis, lives at Fluvanna.
