The Texas Railroad Commission cut the statewide oil allowable for August to 33 percent of potential, permitting 3,138,611 barrels daily. July’s 33.3 percent factor allowed 3,118,042 barrels, while August 1965 was 28 percent for 2,905,312 barrels. Nominations by major buyers totaled 2,660,559 bpd, with Pan American seeking 293,945 bpd and Humble 394,200 bpd.

Snyder City Council Holds Budget Work Session
Snyder city leaders met at the Snyder Country Club for an informal budget work session for the fiscal year starting October 1. Mayor M L Broman announced a new ambulance service committee with Rayburn Burgess Marshall Erwin and City Manager George Patterson, while ambulance service from local funeral homes will halt on Oct 1. The mayor and Patterson also attended a meeting in Abilene about forming a regional Council of Governments with about 30 counties involved. A follow up session is set for August 9. The remainder of the session reviewed budget proposals and the city manager will present a rough draft later this month.
