Stella Womack Wellborn 75 dies at a Plainview hospital while visiting daughters. A Scurry County resident since 1898 and wife of Charles M. Wellborn, she is survived by five daughters, two sons, four sisters, two brothers, 22 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren. Funeral at First Baptist Church Monday with burial at Hillside Memorial Gardens.

Diesel Instructor Appointed At Western Texas College
James W. Clark is named Diesel Mechanics Instructor for Western Texas College by Gene Robertson. He will start in August to teach diesel mechanics in a two year associate degree program. Clark brings 32 years of diesel tech experience and has completed gray marine and continent radial schools. He is married with four children ages 18 15 11 and 8. The program includes day and evening courses with about 30 hours weekly classroom and shop time and a summer shop work option.
