Five Marines Die In Da Nang Firefights In Vietnam
Five Marines were killed and 17 wounded in two engagements near Da Nang as 22 Viet Cong were reported slain in one action and unconfirmed claims said 26 guerrillas died under Marine fire. A Leatherneck unit three miles southwest of Da Nang encountered a force of about 200 with air support from two F4B Phantoms. Another action about 11 miles south of Da Nang left one Marine dead and three wounded as the Marines repelled a Viet Cong company.

Mrs. Knight Dies at 84. Rites Scheduled
