Nassau County detective chief Stuyvesant Pinnell says there is no new information as a second call claimed the child was alive and demanded a ransom increase to 5000 dollars. The abduction occurred July 4 between 3 and 3 30 p m from a carriage in a rear yard at a 32000 home.

Sheriff's deputies hunted Friday from Dunn to Colorado City for a man who attacked a Latin American woman outside her house near Dunn. The assault began about 9 a.m. Friday and the suspect remained at large Saturday. The man, described as rough looking with a long beard, fled as the woman grabbed a gun and released six dogs before escaping through brush toward Dunn.

Three Marine fliers perished when their light training plane crashed Thursday night on the Koolau Mountain Range. Four Marines were aboard and an Army rescue team searched for the fourth man. The crew chief is Sgt. Philip G. Gaither of Amarillo Texas. His wife Coleen Gaither resides in Honolulu.
