Man Holds Daughter During Airport Hijack Plot Reaches Surrender
A Buffalo man 23 named Charles Smith surrendered to an FBI agent after holding his 17 month old daughter hostage during an aborted hijacking of an American Airlines jet at Buffalo International Airport. Smith demanded a pilot and threatened to kill the child. he would face attempted hijacking charges. The infant, Jetu an Smith, was unharmed. Smith was aided aboard by an FBI agent and left the plane with his daughter after police assurances of no harm.
