Polaris Sub Goes Aground On Shoal
The Polaris missile third submarine Henry Clay ran aground on a shoal at the start of a Hampton Roads crossing. Two Navy tugs freed the nuclear vessel within two hours. Navy sources reported no hull damage and the sub resumed its voyage after being commissioned in February at Newport News Shipbuilding and Dry Dock Co.
