Hollywood auctioneer Arthur Goode began selling Hedy LaMarr’s possessions including dining room furniture, a platypus rug, and original paintings. Buyers lined up outside the gallery as hundreds of items were offered with expected totals rivaling her 1951 sale. The platypus rug, a waterproof Tasmanian skin treasure, topped bidders at 275 dollars, while the dining room set brought about 1000 dollars.

Funeral services were held for Mrs. Louella Crosson at 3 p m in Bell Seale Chapel. The Snyder resident, 79, died Saturday at Cogdell Memorial Hospital. Interment followed in Snyder Cemetery with Don Browning officiating and assist from Rev Jerry Speer. Work On Mounds Set At New Lake
Work begins this week on 17 oil well mounds in the new lake basin above Robert Lee. Contractor Roland L. Scherer bids $465 058 and has moved equipment to the site. Mounds will stand 30 to 60 feet high with 90 mn casing, protected by gravel and rock. A diversion channel will let Clement Bros add about one million cubic yards to the main structure, shortening the fill gap to start in August. The CRMWD expects Texas Water Development Board approval for river diversion works above Colorado City.
