A Dowell High School diploma issued May 17 1945 to Dorothy Ellouise Edwards was found under a house at 1803 Thirty-ninth Street by Jake Amato, the Boy Scout executive. The diploma with a red cover might be among the last issued after consolidation closed the district following World War II. James J. Jones Chapman 62 living in Scurry County died unexpectedly today. He was pronounced dead at Cogdell Memorial Hospital at 7 45 a m. Funeral planned for 2 30 p m Friday at Bell Seale Chapel with Rev Miller Robinson and Rev Charles Bowyer officiating. He is survived by his wife, two daughters, a son, four sisters, two brothers and seven grandchildren.
