Scurry County Commissioners court approved restoring the Boys' Club facility damaged by a December fire. The plan uses much of the old structure and adds masonry tile work, with insurance of 15000 already paid. Total project cost around 25000 and club members will help with painting and finishing. The rebuilt building aims to cut maintenance costs and improve club facilities.
A violent storm prevented rescuers from reaching the Air India Boeing 707 wreckage on Mont Blanc where 117 people died. Winds and blizzard conditions hampered helicopters and ground teams, with debris scattered across the mountain and several bodies identified only by fragments.
